President Jonathan declares interest in contesting 2015 election

Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday formally declared that he will contest the 2015 Presidential election for his second term in office, reports NewsDay.
Jonathan, who spoke when leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) visited him at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said he would procure the expression of interest and nomination forms of the party before the October 30 deadline.

A presidential declaration committee charged with the duty of drawing up a formal programme for his declaration has been set up.
The committee is headed by by Dr. Haliru Bello, a former Minister of Defence.
